Louise Whelan

Managing Director

Louise has always had caring in her background, her family run a successful Nursing Home in Dublin, and through her involvement there, she realised that there was a growing requirement to also deliver excellent home care with a personal touch. Louise honed her entrepreneurial skills through ownership of multiple award-winning restaurants and from this experience, Louise garnered her understanding of the importance of uncompromising standards in customer service and she has applied this principle to the home care realm. 

Louise is passionate about the home care industry and committed to ensuring that the highest standards of performance and care are met, thereby enabling people to live happy and healthy lives in their homes and communities. Louise is a hands-on Managing Director, who leads from the front and inspires pride in our organisational values and mission.

Martin Whelan

Executive Director

With over 38 years of experience in the highly regulated domestic and commercial security industry, Martin’s expertise in quality control and people management has lent itself brilliantly to the home care sector. A dedicated businessman and entrepreneur, Martin knows that the key to success is customer satisfaction and he has rigorously applied these principles in Pioneer HomeCare. Martin is responsible for finance and business development.

Non-Executive Director

Richard has a strong pedigree in the security sector, where he has been instrumental in accelerating the growth of our sister company, Pioneer Security. Richard’s business acumen, management expertise and commitment to ensuring “quality without compromise” has transferred effortlessly to Pioneer HomeCare, where he ensures that these same exacting standards are applied. 

Christina Simpson

Head of Services

Christina has demonstrated an innate capacity and flair for organisation along with a keen understanding of the day-to-day workings of homecare services. Christina was promoted to Office Manager in 2022, where she provided an invaluable link to the HSE from the outset of a homecare package and closely liaised with all stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery and smooth running of all homecare packages. Christina excelled herself in the role and due to her exceptional attention to detail, communication and decision making, we were delighted to promote her to the role of Head of Services in 2023. Christina’s sunny disposition, excellent interpersonal skills, and background in psychology are among her strongest qualities and just few of the many factors which make her an integral part of the team.

Jenifer Whelan

Accounts Manager

From a young age, Jenifer has had a keen interest in the healthcare field, having worked as a Health Care Assistant in the family Nursing Home. Jenifer’s compassion and enthusiasm for working with the most vulnerable in society saw her go on to obtain her Health Care qualifications prior to beginning her work as a Client Care Supervisor which then led Jenifer to account management in 2024. Jenifer is a dedicated and skilled accounts manager with a proven track record of excellence in financial management and analysis. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills, Jenifer consistently ensures that financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with regulations.

Debbie McCoy

HR Manager

Debbie has spent her career in Human Resource Management and has garnered significant experience in the homecare field. Debbie looks after all aspects of the HR functions including recruitment and selection, performance management, employer-employee relations, function evaluation and policy formulation. Chief among Debbie’s concern is employee welfare and wellbeing and she has a proven track-record of developing employees and their careers.

Payroll Manager

Leah has spent her career working in home care, starting as a carer before moving in to scheduling and accounts management. Leah has been instrumental to Pioneer HomeCare’s success due to her knowledge of the home care industry, her attention to detail and her unrivalled commitment to ensuring the delivery of quality care. 

David Canavan

Client Care Coordination Manager

David has spent several years working as a Client Care Coordinator and during this time he has demonstrated an excellent logistical mindset which he diligently applies to the task of scheduling client’s care, David received a much-deserved promotion to Client Care Coordination Manager in February 2025 as he has demonstrated an excellent capacity for ensuring the smooth running of homecare packages in all assigned area. David serves as the Client Care Coordination Manager, with oversight across all geographical scheduling areas.

Mary-Jane Harvey

Community Support Manager

Mary-Jane is our dedicated Community Support Manager whose journey with us began as a Rapid Responder and evolved into a Client Care Supervisor. With a passion for helping others and a wealth of experience in supervising and delivering exceptional care, Mary-Jane leads our community support team with compassion and expertise. Her journey from frontline response to managerial role reflects her commitment to making a meaningful difference in people's lives. Mary-Jane's dedication to community care shines through in every aspect of her work.

Elaine Foran

Compliance Officer

Elaine has spent most of her career working in the home care sector and brings years of experience in the home care industry. Elaine is committed to ensuring our clients receive the highest standard of care and she supports our care team in delivering this service. Elaine has a passion for elder-care and ensuring that client’s care needs are met. In her role as Compliance Officer, Elaine ensures that the HSE Tender Requirements are met along with ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Elaine is also available to staff for any issues or concerns they may have either personally or professionally.

Claire Kavanagh

HCP Coordinator

Claire began her career as a health care assistant prior to becoming a Client Care Scheduler with the company. Claire’s attention to detail, strategic mindset and dedication to the provision of quality care, saw her move into her current role as our Home Care Package Coordinator. Claire is the first point of contact for the HSE’s referral system and she liaises with clients or their families to ensure that care is put in place in a timely manner. Claire judiciously matches up client and health care assistant, with a particular focus on the client’s needs and the attributes of the Health Care Assistant best suited to meet their needs.

Mandy Murphy

HR Trainer

Mandy has dedicated her career to Human Resources Management, with a strong focus on training and ensuring best practice in the caring profession as well as providing our staff with the tools to deliver the highest standard of care in their homes . Mandy manages our end to end recruitment process along with managing our 250 + personnel. 

Kate Mooney

Client Care Nurse

Kate is a dedicated and compassionate individual in the position of Client Care Nurse. Kate is a Registered Nurse with a strong background in healthcare and a passion for helping others, Kate has previously worked as a healthcare assistant and has demonstrated exceptional care and support for clients during her time as a nurse and a healthcare assistant. Kate’s hard work is a testament to her professionalism, and ability to go above and beyond in providing attentive and personalized care to each individual she interacts with. Kate’s leadership skills, ability to communicate effectively, and her commitment to the well-being of others make her a valuable asset to the team.

Stephanie Collins

Client Care Nurse

Stephanie is truly a standout member of the Pioneer Homecare team! As a Client Care Nurse, she brings an exceptional blend of compassion, expertise, and enthusiasm to her role. Her dedication to providing high standard care for clients reflects her commitment to enhancing their quality of life. Stephanie has a warm personality and excellent communication skills, Stephanie easily builds trusting relationships with both clients and their families. Sandra came to the home care industry following on from her years of experience in the nursing home sector. Sandra recognised the importance of facilitating people in later life to live independently in their homes and communities where possible. Sandra works tirelessly to ensure that the clients’ needs are met and that the health care assistants she works with are equally well cared for too.

Susan is a long-standing member of the team who brings with her a decade’s experience working in the caring sector. Having joined the team as a Senior Rapid Responder, it was abundantly clear that Susan had a wonderful way with the clients and her colleagues alike. Susan's consistent dedication to the highest standards of care delivery made her an ideal candidate for career progression within the company. Susan's warmth and her caring nature have endeared her to the team and she continues to cement excellent working relationships across the board. 

Julia Astratova

Client Care Supervisor

Julia began her career as a health care assistant with Pioneer HomeCare and quickly established herself as an excellent high dependency care assistant due to her patient nature and her diligent approach to her vocation. Given Julia’s personal qualities, experience and commitment to ongoing education, she was promoted to a Supervisory role and has excelled in the position.

Known for her compassionate approach, she excels at building strong relationships with clients and their families. Mary’s role involves overseeing a team of healthcare assistants and clients, ensuring that high standards of service are maintained, and advocating for clients' needs.

Jay Adeniyi

On-Call Coordinator

Jay began his career as a healthcare assistant before taking the leap into scheduling. It is due to this that Jay has a high understanding of the importance of the careful coordination of client services. Jays thoughtful approach to scheduling homecare is his greatest quality, always bearing in mind the clients individual needs, and this sits alongside his capacity to listen to care assistants to create schedules which are tailored to their needs, creating a healthy work life balance. Jay places huge value on client satisfaction and this is what motivates him in his current role.

Kelly Killeen

Client Care Coordinator

Kelly has dedicated her career to client support services. Beginning her working life as a healthcare assistant, Kelly’s skillset was quickly recognised and she moved into a role as a Community Care Supervisor. Kelly honed her skills through active monitoring of client satisfaction and ensuring client and care assistant compatibility. Throughout her career, Kelly has excelled in the interpersonal arena and has forged excellent working relationships with clients, care assistants and relevant stakeholders. Kelly’s collaborative approach to her work has proven to be an excellent asset to the Pioneer HomeCare team.

Niamh Purcell

Client Care Coordinator

Niamh began her career with Pioneer Homecare as a health care assistant. During her time as a healthcare assistant, Niamh proved to be a fantastic employee and fostered excellent working relationships with the clients and her fellow carers. Niamh's knowledge of Dublin has proven an invaluable asset as she diligently applies her local knowledge to the logistics of scheduling. Niamh's experience on the front line of caring has also deepened her appreciation of the importance of allocating the appropriate carer to a given client.

Larah De Freitas

Larah started her Pioneer Homecare career as a health care assistant. Larah excelled herself while working with clients and her extraordinary ability to communicate and reassure was noted early on. Throughout her time as a healthcare assistant, Larah established excellent working relationships with clients and colleagues alike and has demonstrated a deep understanding of the importance of matching the right carer to each client. Larah has taken her impressive skillset into her role as Client Care Coordinator.

One of Akhil's many fantastic qualities is his organisational skills. He efficiently manages schedules, ensuring that health care assistants are well-matched with clients based on their unique needs. This not only enhances the quality of care provided but also fosters strong relationships between health care assistants and clients. Akhil's commitment to continuous improvement shines through in his proactive approach. He regularly seeks feedback from clients and health care assistants alike to refine processes and enhance service delivery. Leona Andrews

Receptionist

Leona comes from a homecare background and has a positive attitude and wonderful communication skills. Leona manages our busy phonelines along with welcoming carers through our doors. Leona has established excellent working relationships with both care assistants and clients alike and is an asset as a member of our front of house team.

Cassie Greene

On-Call Coordinator

Cassie has worked in Homecare since 2018 beginning her career as a HealthCare Assistant in 2018. During the last 6 years her career has evolved in Homecare as she was quickly promoted to a Manager in 2019 followed by a new role as a Scheduling Manager in 2021. Cassies experiences have always been focused on communication and interaction with people along with her experience as a Health Care Assistant she has an excellent ability to create schedules ensuring that each clients individual needs are met at all times. Cassie always promotes both clients and carers satisfaction in her role of On-Call Coordinator.
